American SpeedFest 11 powered by Lucas Oil will feature a unique addition to the programme in the shape of bespoke Ford vs Chevrolet muscle car races at Brands Hatch on 8/9 June.

These all-new races will celebrate two of America’s most iconic car manufacturers in a style which is both fun for competitors and those watching trackside from the spectator banks. The races have been put together by the same team behind the popular Bernie’s V8s and Historic Outlaws series, which has been part of SpeedFest since the first edition in 2013.

Unlike the traditional Bernie’s V8s grid, which is open to a wide range of V8 powered machinery, the Ford vs Chevrolet races will focus solely on the two titular marques. And brand honour will be fought for in a pair of 25-minute races on the Indy circuit.

In order to determine a winner, competitors will score points across both races to count towards the overall tally. And these are available for more than just race results. Indeed, points will be available during qualifying as well as for gaining positions during the races. There will also be opportunities for fans to vote for their favourites.

At the time of writing, a strong entry is anticipated with more than 20 cars expected at the Kent circuit this summer.
