Current British Touring Car Championship frontrunner Jake Hill and former title contender Anthony Reid are set to once again join Richard Wheeler as part of a planned three-car Nissan team when Super Touring Power 2 comes to Brands Hatch on 29/30 June.
The trio first linked up at the Kent venue’s inaugural ‘90s tin top celebration last year. Hill was the class of the field all weekend, claiming four victories at his local circuit at the wheel of an ex-factory Nissan Primera.
Reid rolled back the years, evoking memories of his late ‘90s heyday, to join Hill on the podium, whilst Wheeler was impressive as well, running close to the front in a field which included several pro drivers.
The trio will line up at the wheel of RML-manufactured Primeras, originally raced by the Japanese manufacturer’s works BTCC team by Reid himself as well as Laurent Aiello and David Leslie. The cars are now privately owned by Wheeler and prepared for track action by John Danby Racing.
The cars will be presented for a second year in succession in matching liveries from the late ‘90s, replicating the essence of Nissan’s period works effort. This announcement follows the earlier news that Wheeler’s ex-Dan Eaves Honda Integra from the later BTC era is also being prepared to race on the Grand Prix and Indy circuits this summer.
Discounted advance tickets for Super Touring Power at Brands Hatch on 29/30 June are available from £26 with free entry for under-13s. For more information click here.
