KMR Sport’s Tom Mills is on the verge of wrapping up the GB4 Championship title, after securing his tenth win of the season in race two at Brands Hatch.
Mills once more led every lap from pole position, and finished ahead of nearest title rival Cooper Webster to further extend his championship lead.
Mills ended the contest over a second clear of Evans GP’s Webster, who moved up to second at the expense of Fox Motorsport’s Liam McNeilly with a daring move around the outside of Westfield on lap six.
Webster looked to close on Mills, and set a fastest lap while doing so, but despite a few lockups, Mills was able to unleash his own pace advantage, setting the fastest race lap of the weekend so far on the way to his second victory of the event.
While McNeilly settled for third, VRD Racing celebrated their best GB4 result so far with fourth place, while the second Fox car of Sid Smith impressed on the way to fifth, finishing right under Ping’s rear wing.
Graham Brunton Racing’s Harry Burgoyne was sixth ahead of Elite’s Josh Irfan, while Jack Clifford (KMR) finished ahead of Fortec’s Queen, who dropped to ninth after an off.
Queen’s teammate Aditya Kulkarni completed the top-10 despite an incident with Kai Daryanani on the first lap, which forced the latter into retirement, and brought out the safety car.
The final race of the weekend is due to start at 17.35, with Mills in prime position to sew up the championship honours.
