Current British Touring Car Championship frontrunner Jake Hill and ‘90s title contender Anthony Reid will join Richard Wheeler in a three-car Nissan super team when Super Touring Power arrives at Brands Hatch on 1/2 July.
With six wins to his name in the BTCC, Jake Hill is one of the leading lights of modern top flight tin top competition in the UK. The local ace will swap the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport BMW he regularly races in the BTCC for a Nissan Primera raced by Laurent Aiello during his 1999 title winning campaign.
Anthony Reid, twice a runner up in the BTCC’s fondly remembered Super Touring era, will line up in the very car he raced to seven victories in 1998. Reid has appeared in one of Wheeler’s cars several times in recent years and he’ll be back at the wheel for the event which features racing on both the Grand Prix and Indy circuits.
Car owner Richard Wheeler will complete the trio in the machine David Leslie drove throughout the 1999 season as teammate to Aiello. Wheeler has been a huge supporter of Super Touring’s modern revival with the Classic Touring Car Racing Club and his enthusiasm is the driving force behind getting these three ex-works Nissans onto the entry.
Hill, Reid and Wheeler will race in matching factory liveries from the period alongside other iconic Super Tourers. This announcement follows the previously announced news that four-time Bathurst winner Greg Murphy will race an ex-Matt Neal Primera at the all-new event.
Other notable entrants announced include 1993 and 1994 FIA Touring Car World Cup winner Paul Radisich who will be reunited with the cars he raced in those events, whilst former Australian Super Touring and V8 Supercars racer Steven Richards will drive a Volvo S40.
Discounted advance tickets for Super Touring Power at Brands Hatch on 1/2 July are available from £25 with free entry for under-13s. For more information click here.
