Autosport will join the Super Touring Power line-up as the official host of the event’s interview stage at Brands Hatch on 1/2 July.
The globally renowned motorsport website and weekly magazine will stage a takeover of this element of the off-track show with members of the publication’s on-site editorial staff speaking to prominent personalities. These will include famous drivers in attendance, with John Cleland, Paul Radisich, Greg Murphy and Steven Richards among those planning to attend.
There may also be opportunities to hear from some of those who were responsible for building and running cars, both in period and in the present day, as well as drivers who’ve raced in other eras of the British Touring Car Championship and international series.
Autosport will use the opportunity to record podcasts in front of a live audience, with those in attendance able to catch an exclusive first listen in person. This could include questions and anecdotes that don’t make the final broadcast version!
Autosport will also cover the event in the following week’s magazine (6 July issue) and on autosport.com.
Super Touring Power will be headlined by 1990s cars but machinery from the 1960s through to the early 2000s is expected to appear on the circuit, with several racing grids from the Classic Touring Car Racing Club. There will be special demonstrations and displays too, with Autosport’s presence adding to a busy off-track line-up.
Further details of which personalities fans can expect to see take part in interviews with Autosport will be shared in the run-up to the event.
Kevin Turner, Autosport Chief Editor, said: “The Super Touring era is fondly remembered as a golden era of tin-top racing. The cars were sophisticated and spectacular, with many famous names behind the wheel and leading teams involved in intense competition. MSV always put on great events and we are very pleased to be involved in a Brands Hatch extravaganza that will include both brilliant nostalgia and on-track action from a wide range of machinery.”
David Willey, MSV’s Group Motorsport Event Manager, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Autosport to Super Touring Power as an official part of the event. Ever since we announced we were launching a retro tin top weekend there has been a great amount of enthusiasm from our friends at the magazine and we’re all very excited to work together more closely. I for one can’t wait to hear all the stories that will be told during the podcast recordings!”
